construction process
To construct a fiberglass pool, it must be comprised of three main components: the pool’s gelcoat surface, the pool’s structural shell and the ground in which the pool will be placed.
Each component is affected by the other two, thus all three must be considered carefully. Our commitment to technological advancements through years of research and development has resulted in a top quality composite pool with extraordinary structural integrity, durability and corrosion resistance. In layman’s terms, this means each pool we build is intentionally made with the quality of every component at top of mind. All of the products from Imagine Pools® are built under strict quality controls and must also meet the ICC ESR-3868 certification requirements, but we don’t stop there.
Resin 101
The fiberglass pool industry adheres to two standards for resin: polyester resin and Vinyl Ester Resin:
Polyester resins: Created when glycol and dibasic acid interact and are then cured with a hardener additive.
Vinyl Ester Resin: Produced by the reaction between an epoxy resin and an unsaturated acid and then cured with a hardener additive.
So why is Vinyl Ester Resin the best choice for a swimming pool?
During the process of mixing together Vipoxy™ Vinyl Ester Resin components, the backbone of the Vinyl Ester Resin’s molecular chain is reinforced, strengthened with epoxy molecules, then hardened. The resulting solid has far fewer open sites in its molecular chain for water to penetrate into than that of Polyester Resin, protecting the pool against hydrolisis (osmosis).

The Lifetime Structural Warranty is your guarantee of a composite swimming pool with high tensile strength, capable of withstanding the impact of natural ground movements from the environment.
From the outside, your pool shell may look relatively uncomplicated. However, beneath the surface, there is a team of players fast at work to ensure your fiberglass pool is durable, strong and can withstand the test of time. To that end, we have incorporated alternating layers of different fiberglass materials, each individually encased in a full saturation of durable Vipoxy™ Vinyl Ester Resin Blend.

The Lifetime Structural Osmosis Warranty is your guarantee of a composite swimming pool which will act as an impermeable membrane, preventing both pool water and groundwater from penetrating into the structural laminate.
